The Learning & Development (L&D) team at a leading international software company, based in the US, is responsible for providing core and common skills training for more than 15,000 People Managers globally.
The L&D team wanted to shift the learning experiences they offered their People Managers, from a solely event-based approach, to one which provided more on-going performance support.
The company approached Agylia to help them design and build their mobile learning solution, using the Windows platform, which encompassed not only bite-sized learning content, but also incorporated gamification principles and rewards to help drive adoption, on-going usage and greater engagement.
Gamification features enabled users to earn points by performing various activities inside the mobile learning App. The App homepage displays the current user’s points together with a leaderboard that enables managers to see their position relative to their colleagues. In addition to points, users are able to earn achievement awards (badges, medals and trophies) and prizes.
To support the automatic allocation, management and distribution of prizes in the form of electronic gift certificates, Tango Card - an online gift card platform - was integrated into the Agylia App.
The App needed to:
- Deliver various types of content, including videos, Office and PDF documents, and interactive quizzes
- Record consumption metrics, quiz scores and completion data - even while the App was offline
- Run on a range of Windows devices
- Enable administrators to easily upload and deliver new content

By bringing together compelling content, gamification and rewards, the App has made a big impact on the way the company supports its People Managers.
The company is now able to provide its People Managers globally with easily accessible, just-in-time learning support, such as videos, articles and quizzes - helping them to better navigate common People Manager challenges and improve the performance of their teams.
